Wedding at the Kingsmills Hotel Inverness – Sally and Alistair

Sally and Alistair had a beautiful day for their wedding at the Kingsmills Hotel. They had met at a previous wedding I had shot so it was lovely to be involved in another chapter of their story. I arrived at the house to a hive of activity with make up being done by the fantastic Eileen Solan, flowers arriving and the girls coming and going to get their hair done. Soon enough, everyone looked stunning and were ready to to be transported to the venue in a Range Rover, beautifully kitted out with wedding ribbons.

The bride and her party were piped in to the ceremony where family and friends were waiting to join the couple. The ceremony was beautiful and touching with tears and laughter which was concluded by sharing a drink from a Quaich.

After the ceremony there was a round of drinks and congratulations before we headed of for some photographs around the venue. Stairs, a piano and the gardens made for some lovely locations to create the images.

Both families made sure that laughter was always in the air and there were lots of stories recounting some of the antics from over the years. The best stories were saved for the speeches and the fun and laughter was only eclipsed by the obvious love and devotion that Sally and Alistair have for each other.

Everyone had a fantastic time and it was an honour to be a part of their special day. Here are some of our favourite images which we feel capture the day perfectly.

Buncrew House Hotel Wedding Inverness – Steph & Dave

Every now and again you get the opportunity to help out your fellow photographers and I had the opportunity to do just that for my fellow photographer and friend Julie Fraser of Julie Fraser Photography in Caithness. She asked me to 2nd shoot for her at a wedding at Buncrew House Hotel and I was delighted to be able to help out.

At the rehearsal on the eve of the wedding there were some concerns about the weather and at that point it looked like the whole event would have to take place indoors with a forecast of wind and rain due to arrive right at the time the ceremony was due to start. What a shame that would be at such a beautiful location. However, the weather moved away during the morning, with only a few spits of rain making a brief appearance. By the time the ceremony was due to start we had blue skies with lovely white wispy clouds and a pleasantly warm temperature and Steph was able to fulfil her dream of an outdoor wedding underneath the wishing tree.

The day went well with lots of laughter and smiles and the weather continuing to play nice, ending up with a gorgeous sunset. It’s always an honour and a pleasure to be a part of someone’s special day, and even as a 2nd shooter, this was no different.
